Carolina Apple Cake

Ingredients

350 ml cooking oil
400 gr sugar
4 eggs
375 gr all purpose flour
3 gr salt
9 gr vanilla
5 gr baking soda
290 gr apples
240 gr nuts
5 gr butter
220 gr brown sugar
60 ml milk
14 gr vanilla

Instructions

Recipe by: Governor James B. Hunt Jr., North Carolina Simmer Sauce for 3 minutes, then pour over warm cake. Bake at 180ºC or one hour. JO's note: are you supposed to cook the cake and then serve it with the prepared sauce over it, or prepare the sauce and pour over cake batter and THEN bake?
