Casserole De Santa Fe

Ingredients

425 gr am blue cornmeal
5 gr non-alum baking powder
4 gr cumin
6 gr chili powder
475 ml milk
1 egg
140 gr green chilis
16 ml am unrefined vegetable oil
1 onion
475 gr pinto beans
240 ml tomato sauce
300 gr cheese

Instructions

Chopped green onions -to garnish top Combine first three ingredients. Combine milk, egg and chilies in a separate bowl. Saute' chopped onion in oil and add to milk mixture; stir into cornmeal mixture, then pour half of batter into the bottom of an oiled casserole dish (rectangular). Layer with beans, tomato sauce, and cheese; repeat layering. Bake at 190ÂșC . for 40 minutes, garnish with chopped green onions and serve with salsa.
