Catherine Wheel Cookies

Ingredients

250 gr flour
9 gr baking powder
28 gr currants
60 gr almonds
4 gr anise seeds
200 gr sugar
1 gr cinnamon
140 gr butter
1 eggs

Instructions

Preheat oven to 200ºC . Mix together flour, baking powder, currants, almonds, anise seeds, sugar and cinnamon. Add cooled melted butter and egg, stir to form soft dough. Pinch off walnut sized pieces, roll into balls, and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with fork to make crisscross pattern and bake in preheated 200ºC oven for 10 to dozen minutes or till lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Yield: 2.5 dozen
