Chocolate Chip Orange Scones

Ingredients

2 all purpose flour
3/8 granulated sugar
2 baking powder
1/2 salt
1/2 butter
2 eggs
1/4 orange juice
1 vanilla extract
1/2 orange peel
3/4 miniature chocolate chips
1 egg mixed with
1/2 water

Instructions

Recipe by: American Country Inn and Bed & Breakfast Preheat oven to 400 degrees; butter a 23 cm circle in the center of a baking sheet. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut the butter into 1 cm ted into the center comes out clean. Remove the baking sheet to a wire rack and cool for 10 minutes. With a spatula, transfer the scones to a wire rack to cool. Recut into wedges if necessary.
