Crisp Crust Apple Pie

Ingredients

5 apples
450 gr sugar
8 gr flour
6 gr cinnamon
120 ml water
325 gr self rising flour
1 gr salt
130 gr shortening
120 ml ice water
110 gr butter

Instructions

Slice apples thin into an oblong baking dish. Mix together sugar, flour and cinnamon, sprinkle over apples. Pour water over mixture. Crust: Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening. Add enough water to hold dough together. Roll between sheets of waxed paper. Put on top of apple mixture. Sprinkle on sugar and cinnamon (mixed together). Dot with butter cut into patties. Bake at 200ºC until crust is browned and apples are tender. You can use -20ºC rozen pie shells for crust and put on topping. ----
