Devil's Food Cake

Ingredients

180 ml boiling water
95 gr chocolate squares
280 gr sifted cake flour
7 gr baking soda
3 gr baking powder
2 gr salt
140 gr shortening
425 gr brown sugar
3 eggs
7 gr vanilla
180 ml sour milk

Instructions

Pour boiling water over chocolate; stir over low heat until smooth and thick; cool. Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt together. Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Blend in chocolate and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition.
