Empress Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

190 gr sifted cake flour
260 gr ghirardelli sweet
150 gr sugar
7 gr baking soda
1 ml cream of tartar
1 gr salt
130 gr shortening
240 ml buttermilk
2 eggs
4 gr vanilla
240 ml buttermilk

Instructions

two 8 by 4 cm round cake pans with waxed paper. Spread batter into pans. Bake at 350-F for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on racks 10 minutes; remove layers from pans. After completely cooled, frost with Empress Frosting*. *separate recipe
