Ginger Spice Cake

Ingredients

350 gr cake flour
5 gr ginger
1 gr cinnamon
1 gr nutmeg
3 gr salt
5 gr baking soda
110 gr sweet butter
240 ml molasses
110 gr dark brown sugar
240 ml buttermilk
60 ml orange juice squeezed
2 eggs

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9x 5 cm round cake pan. Sift together the dry ingredients and set aside in a bowl. In a small saucepan, melt the butter, then add molasses and brown sugar. Set aside to cool. When the butter mixture is cool, stir into the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Finish by adding the buttermilk, orange juice and eggs. Place the batter in the prepared round cake pan and bake for 35--40 minutes until well done.
