Grandma's Applesauce Cake

Ingredients

55 gr butter softened
3 eggs
120 ml apple juice
120 ml unsweetened applesauce
250 gr unbleached flour
9 gr baking powder
5 gr baking soda
5 gr cinnamon
85 gr raisins
1 slice apple
1 topping unsweetened applesauce warmed

Instructions

In a medium-sized bowl beat together until creamy; butter, eggs, apple juice and applesauce. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Beat well. Stir in raisins if desired. Oil and flour an 20 cm square bakig pan. Line the bottom of the pan, one layer deep, with thinly sliced apple. Spoon batter over apples and smooth top. Bake at 180ÂșC or 25 to 30 minutes or until well-browned. Invert onto a wire rack to cool, apple side up. Serve apple side up on individual dessert plates and spoon warm applesauce over each portion.
