House Park Beans

Ingredients

450 gr pinto beans
3,800 ml water
26 gr chili powder
3 gr garlic powder
6 gr salt
50 gr sugar

Instructions

Wash beans, discarding any bad or half beans. Fill large pot with beans and water. Add chili and garlic powders. Bring to a rolling boil and continue to boil for 2.5 hours, add 1-2 quarts additional boiling water as needed to keep beans from sticking to bottom of pan. Beans should be tender to the touch. Beans should be tender to the touch. Reduce heat to low and add salt and sugar. Simmer 15 minutes more, stirring ocasionally. Makes 8-10 servings.
