Lemony Beef Shanks

Ingredients

350 ml beer
170 gr tomato paste
32 gr quick mixing flour
1 gr salt
1 gr pepper
4 garlic
1 onion thinly
80 gr mushrooms
3 slices carrots
350 gr potatoes scrubbed
350 gr beef shank trimmed of fat
1 lemon zest
30 ml lemon juice

Instructions

In a 3.5 quart electric slow cooker, mix together the beer and tomato paste. Whisk in the flour, salt, pepper and garlic until well-blended. Stir in the onion, mushrooms, carrots and potatoes. Add the beef shanks and push down into the vegetable mixture.

Cover and cook on Low heat setting for 8.5-9 hours or until the beef and potatoes are tender. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice just before serving.
