Manestra

Ingredients

16 ml oil
450 gr beef
2 onions
240 ml tomato sauce
18 gr tomato paste instead
3 gr salt
1 gr pepper
1 gr cinnamon
1 gr spearmint flakes
950 ml boiling water
1 manestra
120 gr cheese

Instructions

Heat oil in large saucepan and brown meat and onions for 10 minutes over medium heat. Add tomato, seasonings, and 2 cups water. Cover and simmer for 1.5 hours until meat is tender. Add remaining water and bring to a boil. Add manestra. Stir once or twice. Simmer 20 minutes more. Serve hot with grated cheese.
