Milk And Honey Casserole Bread

Ingredients

240 ml milk
3 gr salt
2 packages yeast
500 gr flour
95 gr shortening
8 gr sugar
2 eggs
120 ml honey
240 ml warm water
190 gr wheat flour

Instructions

Scald milk and remove from heat. Add shortening, honey and salt. Stir to melt. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve 2 tsp. sugar in warm water. Add yeast. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add cooled milk mixture, eggs,whole wheat flour and 1 cup white flour. Beat 2 minutes with mixer. With wooden spoon, add remaining to make sticky soft dough using your hands. Let stand for 1 hour. Punch down and turn into a dozen cup casserole or 2 smaller ones. Let rise again 1 hour. Bake in 375 degree oven, 45 minutes for small casseroles and 1 hour for larger one. Cool on racks.
