Mocha Cake

Ingredients

95 gr shortening
220 gr brown sugar
220 gr flour
2 gr baking soda
1 gr allspice
1 gr salt
1 currents
2 eggs
16 gr coffee
120 ml boiling water
3 gr cinnamon
170 gr raisins
1/2 citron

Instructions

Combine coffee and boiling water. Boil 3 minutes. Strain and cool. Cream sugar with shortening. Add eggs. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking soda,salt, and spices, reserving quarter cup of the flour for dredging the fruits. Add dry ingredients alternately with coffee to first mixture. Beat until smooth. Add fruits. Mix well. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in slow oven (350 F) about 40 minutes. The Household Searchlight
