Muzurkas

Ingredients

230 gr butter
200 gr sugar
3 eggs
190 gr all purpose flour
1 gr salt
32 gr almonds
6 gr orange peel
26 gr sugar
16 gr cornstarch
350 ml orange juice
200 gr apricots
110 gr figs
85 gr raisins
60 gr walnuts
50 gr candied orange
200 gr sugar
1 baking
350 oven

Instructions

center comes out clean. Meanwhile, for filling, combine the 2 tablespoon. sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Stir in orange juice or water, apricots, figs or dates, and raisins or currants. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in chopped walnuts or almonds and candied peel. Spread over the hot cookie. Bake 20 minutes or till filling appear set. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Drizzle with Powdered Sugar Icing. Makes 36 bars.
