Nanaimo Bars

Ingredients

230 gr butter
50 gr sugar
28 gr cocoa powder
1 egg
180 gr graham wafer cracker crumbs
65 gr nuts
140 gr coconut
45 ml cream
2 custard powder
400 gr icing sugar
110 gr semisweet chocolate
28 gr butter

Instructions

Bottom Layer: In double boiler, melt butter, sugar and cocoa; add egg and cook until thickened. Add crumbs, nuts and coconut. Press into ungreased 23 cm square pan. Middle Layer: Beat together butter, cream, custard powder and sugar; spread over base. Chill. Top Layer: Melt chocolate with butter; cool slightly. Pour over second layer; chill. Cut into bars.
