Pictou County Oatcakes

Ingredients

2 oatmeal
130 gr flour
220 gr brown sugar
3 gr salt
140 gr shortening
1 gr baking soda
60 ml boiling water

Instructions

Combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening. Dissolve baking soda in the boiling water and add, continuing to mix with a knife. Mold with the hands and shape into a long wedge. Slice off and bake in a 200ÂșC oven for 10 minutes.
