Slice-and-bake Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

190 gr all purpose flour
5 gr baking soda
1 gr salt
190 gr shortening
200 gr sugar
220 gr brown sugar
2 eggs
4 gr vanilla extract
475 gr quick-cooking oats
65 gr pecans
1 recipe by southern living

Instructions

Combine flour, soda, and salt; stir well, and set aside. Cream shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer; add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Add flour mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and pecans. Shape dough into two 30 cm rolls; wrap in wax paper, and chill at least 6 hours. Unwrap rolls, and cut into 1 cm slices; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 190ºC or 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly NOTE: Dough may be frozen up to 3 months. Slice dough while frozen, and bake at 190ºC or dozen minutes. ----
