Sour Milk Devil's Food Cake

Ingredients

450 gr brown sugar
95 gr shortening
2 eggs
250 gr whey
5 gr baking soda
5 gr baking powder
45 gr cocoa
4 gr vanilla
1 gr salt
325 gr flour

Instructions

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Add flavoring. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking soda, baking powder, cocoa, and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with whey or sour milk to first mixture. Blend thoroughly but lightly. Allow to stand a few minutes. Pour into well-oiled layer cake pans. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 20 minutes. Put layers together with chocolate fudge icing containing chopped raisins. ----
