Apple Cake With Rum Sauce

Ingredients

1 c all purpose flour
1 ts baking soda
1 ts cinnamon
3/4 ts nutmeg
1/8 ts salt
4 tb butter
2 c sugar
1 egg
2 c granny smith apple
1/2 c butter
1/2 dash nutmeg
1 ts pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons rum

Instructions

boiler, combine butter, sugar and half and half. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Add nutmeg, vanilla and rum. Serve warm over heated cake.
