Brenda's Italian Bread

Ingredients

5 1/2 c unsifted flour
1 tb salt
1 sugat
1 tb butter
2 pkgs dry yeast
1 3/4 c warm tap water
1 egg
1 tb water
4 1/2 cups flour
11 times
1/2 water
1/2 an oblong
3 ro
4 cuts on top of loaf with edge of metal blade

Instructions

water. Return to oven and bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
