Ingredients

3 cups water
3/4 pound dry navy beans
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 package chicken broth
1/4 bacon
4 chicken legs
2 carrots quartered
2 onions quartered
1/4 cup coarsely celery with leaves
2 garlic
1/2 teaspoon marjoram leaves
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/2 pound smoked sausage
2 parsley
2 tablespoons drippings
3 qt casserole
