Date Pinwheel Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 c butter
1/2 c margarine
1 1/2 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 ts baking soda
3 3/4 c all purpose flour
1 lb dates
1 c water
1/2 c walnuts
2 quart saucepan
1/4 thickness

Instructions

Chill about 1 hour. Slice and bake at 375~ for 10 to 15 minutes. This recipe is nearly 100 years old. These cookies are great at Christmas time. ----
