Festive Fruitcake W/ Sweet Apricot Glaze

Ingredients

1 package pecans
1 c candied pineapple
1 c golden raisins
1 c pitted dates
1/2 c candied orange peel
1/2 candied cherries
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1/4 c butter
1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
4 eggs
1/4 c orange juice
1/4 c orange-flavored liqueur
1 tb lemon peel
1 ts vanilla extract
1/2 ts nutmeg
1/4 ts baking soda

1/2 cup flour
1 cup flour until thoroughly blended

Instructions

Note: If desired, wrap cool cake first in cheesecloth soaked in orange-flavored liqueur or brandy before wrapping in foil for storing. EASY APRICOT GLAZE: In small saucepan over very low heat, stir 1/2 cup apricot preserves until melted and warm.
