Grandma Searles' Custard Pie

Ingredients

1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
5 lard
5 tablespoons butter
5 tablespoons water
1 filling
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 nutmeg for sprinkling
9 deep pie with the pastry

Instructions

Beat together the eggs, sugar and milk, and pour into the pie shell. Sprinkle generously with nutmeg. Bake the pie for 10 minutes. Lower the heat to 350F and bake for 30 to 45 minutes more or until the custard has set. Serve the pie cold.
