Orange & Date Bread

Ingredients

1 c butter
2 c sugar
3 eggs
4 c flour
1 ts baking soda
1 ts salt
1 3/8 c buttermilk
1 c dates
1 c pecans
1 tb orange rind

Instructions

-----------------------------------GLAZE----------------------------------1/4 c Orange juice 1/2 c Sugar 2 tb Grated orange rind Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with the buttermilk. Fold in walnuts, dates and orange rind. Pour into two 8 1/2 inch greased and floured pans and bake at 350F. degrees for about an hour. Comb NOTES: Can be made ahead and frozen.
