Shoo-fly Cake

Ingredients

1 1/2 c flour
1 c brown sugar
1/4 lard
1/4 c butter
1/2 c molasses
1/2 c water
1/2 t soda
1 pastry

Instructions

Make crumbs by combining the flour, sugar and shortening. Line a pie pan with pastry. Dissolve the soda in the hot water and combine with the molasses. Pour into the pastry-lined pan, top with the crumbs and bake at 350-F until firm.
