Stuffed Date Drops From The '50's

Ingredients

1 lb pitted dates
70 pecan
1/4 c shortening
3/4 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c flour
1/2 ts baking powder
1/2 ts soda
1/4 ts salt
1/2 c dairy sour cream
1 date per cookie
400 de
1/2 cup margarine
3 cups sifted powdered sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons water

Instructions

Lightly brown butter. Remove from heat and gradually beat in sugar and vanilla. Slowly add water until of spreading consistency. Makes about 70 cookies. Bettie ----
