Trail Bread

Ingredients

4 lb wheat flour
1 1/2 lb granulated sugar
2 ts salt
1 c molasses
1 c sesame seeds
4 c milk
2 tb baking powder
2 c honey
1 1/4 c vegetable oil
1 1/2 c wheat germ

Instructions

Recipe by: St. Louis Post-Dispatch 4/7/97 Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine all ingredients; mix well. Bake in a large roasting pan or in 2 jelly roll pans for approximately 1 hour. Note: High-protein bread originated with the French and was a staple for trappers and traders back to the 1700s. ----
