Ingredients
- 10 eggs
- 1 loaf italian bread
- 950 ml milk
- 260 gr country sausage
- 210 gr maple syrup
- 2 gr nutmeg (ground)
- 2 slices apple
1 cm slices Additional maple syrup In large skillet, cook sausage. Remove from skillet, drain and crumble. Add apple slices to skillet; cook, covered, over medium heat, about 3 minutes. In medium bowl, beat eggs; add milk, one third cup maple syrup and nutmeg. Mix well. In buttered 25 cm pie plate, arrange 0.75 of the bread slices. Top with sausage, apples and remainig bread slices. Pour milk mixture evenly over the top. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 180ÂșC F for 55-60 minutes or until set and golden. Serve immediately with addtional maple syrup. Refrigerate leftovers. ----
