Ingredients
- 375 gr cornmeal
- 36 gr shortening
- 10 ml water
- 10 ml buttermilk
- 5 gr baking powder
- 4 gr sugar
- 3 gr salt
- 2 gr baking soda
Combine dry ingredients. Add shortening, buttermilk, and water; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Shape into oblong patties, using one third cup batter per patty. Stir mixture frequently to prevent cornmeal from settling. Place on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 230ÂșC or 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
