- 350 note burnt sugar syrup put

- 1/2 sourdough starter
- 2 c all purpose flour
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 c vegetable shortening
- 1/2 c sour milk
- 1/2 cup nuts (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup golden seedless raisins
- 3 tb burned sugar syrup
- 1 ts baking soda
- 1 ts cinnamon
- 1/2 ts salt
- 1/2 ts nutmeg
granulated sugar in a small skillet and stir over medium high heat until melted and quite dark. Remove from heat, add 1/4 cup water, and stir in well, but BE CAREFUL as the syrup splatters when water is added. Pat Dwigan ----
