Ingredients
- 1 c vinegar (white)
- 1 c sugar
- 1 1/2 tb ketchup
- 1/4 ts salt
- 3 dr tabasco sauce
- 1 slice ginger (sliced fresh)
Every Chinese cook has his own version of this. This one is intended for quick cooking in an American kitchen. IN A SAUCEPAN, combine the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, ginger, salt and Tabasco sauce; bring to a boil. Continue cooking over high heat and reduce to the consistency of a light syrup that lightly coats a spoon. Makes 1 1/2 Cups
