Ingredients

- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 2 c cake flour
- 1 c bananas
- 3/4 c shortening
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- 1/2 c pecans
- 1 ts soda
- 1 ts baking powder
- 1 ts vanilla
- 1/2 ts salt
Cream together shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs; beat 2 minutes. Add mashed bananas; beat 2 minutes. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture along with buttermilk and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Stir in nuts. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round layer cake pans. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cool layers. Fill and frost as desired. I use a Creamy Nut Filling and White Snow Frosting. See separate recipes. Bette...NM ----
