Ingredients
- 2 level drippings
- 240 ml water
- 220 gr brown sugar
- 190 gr sifted all-purpose flour
- 170 gr raisins
- 4 ml soda
- 3 gr cinnamon
- 2 gr ginger
- 1 gr salt
Cook together sugar, water, raisins, drippings and salt. Let cool. Sift together flour, soda, ginger and cinnamon. Stir into the cooled cooked mixture. Mix well. Bake 1 hour at 180ÂșC in a greased loaf pan. To make a delicious fruit cake add a cup of chopped dates, 1 cup mixed peel, half cup nuts or drop by teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes.
