Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 475 ml buttermilk
- 250 gr wheat flour (whole)
- 85 gr dark seedless raisins
- 45 ml molasses (light)
- 60 gr walnuts
- 12 gr butter (lightly salted)
- 5 gr baking powder
- 5 gr baking soda
- 3 gr salt
Grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Beat egg in a large bowl. Stir in buttermilk, molasses (or honey) and butter. Stir in flour mixture. Mix in walnuts and raisins. Scrape batter into prepared pan and bake 50-60 minutes, or until bread is well browned. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Makes 1 loaf. ----
