Ingredients
- 3 garlic clove (minced)
- 1/4 chunks
- 700 ml water
- 700 gr beef chuck in (diced)
- 280 gr tomatoes (canned)
- 200 gr pasta (uncooked)
- 38 gr corn meal
- 30 ml water (cold)
- 30 ml vegetable oil
- 18 gr chili powder
- 6 gr cumin (ground)
- 1 gr cayenne powder
- 1 gr salt
Prepare pasta according to package directions, drain. Heat oil over medium high heat in a large, heavy pan. Add meat and garlic and brown lightly. Add seasonings and stir to coat meat. Add tomatoes and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 and a half hours, stirring occasionally. Add cold water to cornmeal and stir to make paste. Stir into hot beef mixture. Continue to cook and stir for 20-30 minutes uncovered until desired consistency. Serve over hot pasta.
