Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 c sugar
- 2 c all purpose flour
- 3/4 c shortening
- 1/4 c molasses
- 1 ts baking soda
- 1 ts vanilla extract
- 1 ts cinnamon (ground)
- 1 ts ginger (ground)
- 1/2 ts salt
Recipe by: TASTE OF HOME DEC/JAN 1996 In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add the egg, molasses and vanilla; mix well. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Roll into 1" balls; roll in remaining sugar. Place 1-1/2" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container. ----
