Ingredients
- 2 shallots
- 1 pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 day
- 2 quart gratin dish
- 2 lb baking potatoes
- 5/8 c milk
- 5/8 c whipping cream
- 1/2 c water (hot)
- 5/8 cup salt and pepper
- 3 tb whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons cream over top of potatoes
- 1 1/2 tb olive oil
- 1/2 oz porcini mushrooms (dried)
- 1/2 ts salt
Bake until potatoes are tender, about 1 hour. Preheat broiler. Broil until top is browned, about 3 minutes. *
