Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 3/4 c sugar
- 2 5/8 c flour
- 1 c pineapple
- 1 c pineapple juice
- 1 c shortening
- 1/2 c milk
- 1/2 c margarine
- 2 tb cornstarch
- 3 ts baking powder
- 2 ts pineapple flavoring
- 2 ts orange flavoring
- 1 ts vanilla
- 1/4 ts salt
Cream shortening, sugar, then add eggs one at a time. Beat until very light and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to creamed mixture alternately with juice. Begin with flour and end with flour. Bake at 350~ for 30-35 minutes. Makes 2 9-inch layers. You Won't Believe It Frosting. Beat these ingredients at high speed with electric mixer for exactly 15 minutes. No more or no less. Now add and mix in 2/3 cup of cooked pineapple. Frost cake. Cooked Pineapple. The original instructions say to put frosting in a covered dish in the refrigerator for a month. Then add the cooked mixture. No way around my house.
