Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 c brown sugar
- 3 1/2 c flour
- 1 c shortening
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t salt
MIX SHORTENING, SUGAR, AND EGGS THOROUGHLY. STIR IN BUTTERMILK. MEASURE FLOUR BY DIPPING METHOD. STIR FLOUR, SALT, AND SODA TOGETHER. BLEND INTO SUGAR MIXTURE. CHILL FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR. HEAT OVEN TO 4000F. DROP DOUGH BY TEASPOONFULS ONTO COOKIE SHEETS 2" APART. (COOKIE SHEET SHEETS SHOULD BE LIGHTLY GREASED.) BAKE 8 TO 10 MINUTES.
