Ingredients
- 240 ml water
- 220 gr brown sugar
- 190 gr flour
- 170 gr raisins
- 24 gr shortening
- 5 gr baking soda
- 3 gr cinnamon
- 2 gr ginger
- 1 gr salt
In a pot, combine the sugar, water, raisins, shortening & salt. Stir over a gentle heat until the sugar & shortening has melted. Raise heat & bring to a boil, stirring continuously. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat & cool. Sift dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the cooled mixture & mix well. Drop by the teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 180ÂșC for 15 minutes.
