Almond Puff

Ingredients

Chopped nuts Confectioners' sugar Glaze (below)

Heat oven to 350. Cut half cup butter into 1 cup flour. Sprinkle 2 tablespoon. waterover mixture; mix with fork. Round into ball; divide in half. On ungreasedbaking sheet, pat each half into a strip, dozen by 8 cm. Strips should beabout 8 cm apart.

In medium saucepan, heat half cup butter & 1 cup water to rolling boil. Removefrom heat & quickly stir in almond extract & 1 cup flour. Stir vigorouslyover low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.

Beat in eggs, all at one time, until smooth. Divide in half; spread eachhalf evenly over strips, covering completely. Bake about 60 minutes oruntil topping is crisp & brown. Cool. Frost with Confectioners' sugar Glaze& sprinkle generously with nuts. 10 to dozen servings

CONFECTIONERS' sugar GLAZE

Mix 1.5 cup confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoon. butter,(softened), 1 to 1.5tsp. almond extract or 1.5 tsp. vanilla & 1 to 2 tablespoon. Warm water untilsmooth.
