Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 2 c granny smith apple
- 2 c sugar
- 1 c all purpose flour
- 1/2 c butter
- 4 tb butter
- 3 tablespoons rum
- 1 ts baking soda
- 1 ts pure vanilla extract
- 1 ts cinnamon (ground)
- 3/4 ts nutmeg (ground)
- 1/8 ts salt
- 1/2 dash nutmeg (ground)
boiler, combine butter, sugar and half and half. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Add nutmeg, vanilla and rum. Serve warm over heated cake.
