Ingredients
- 4 bacon drippings
- 2 garlic (cloves)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 3/4 c water (cold)
- 1 1/2 lb shrimp
- 1 3/4 c converted rice (uncooked)
- 6 oz smoked ham
- 1 c sweet green pepper (chopped)
- 1 c coarse onion (chopped yellow)
- 3/4 c celery (finely diced)
- 3 tb parsley (minced)
- 1/2 ts crumbled leaf thyme
- 1/4 ts cayenne pepper
- 1 package tomatoes
done, and almost all of the liquid has been absorbed. Taste the jambalaya and add the cayenne pepper and salt, if needed. Makes 6 to 8 Servings
