Ingredients
- 3 potatoes (peeled)
- 2,800 ml water
- 400 gr split peas washed (dried)
- 120 gr onion (chopped)
- 50 gr celery (chopped)
- 28 gr butter
- 6 gr salt
- 1 gr pepper
- 1 gr marjoram
In a heavy 5 to 6 litre casserole, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and celery. Cook 5 minutes until soft, not brown. Stir in split peas and water. Bring to a boil. Skim off any scum that may form. Add potatoes, marjoram, salt and pepper. Cook about 1.5 hours.
