Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 3/8 lentils
- 325 ml water
- 30 ml ketchup
- 3 gr garlic powder
- 2 gr chili powder
- 2 gr cumin
- 1 gr pepper flakes (red)
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 package kidney beans
Lightly fry bacon in a heavy 3 litre saucepan. Add onion; cook until transparent. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 45 minutes or until lentils are tender, stirring once or twice. Remove bay leaf before serving.
