Ingredients
- 12 ovenproof baking dish
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 bananas
- 1 egg
- 1 wide fingers
- 1/2 stick
- 2 c milk
- 2 c whipping cream (heavy)
- 1/2 c rum
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/4 c water
- 3 tb dark brown sugar
- 4 tb butter (unsalted)
- 2 tb squeezed lemon juice (freshly)
- 1 tb vanilla extract
- 1 ts nutmeg (freshly grated)
a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the brown sugar, lemon juice, rum, and water, and bring to a rolling boil. Cook, whisking occasionally, until the mixture begins to thicken and the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove the sauce from the heat and transfer it to a serving pitcher. Serve along with the slighly cooled banana bread pudding and whipped cream, if you like.
