Ingredients
- 24 sheets phyllo dough
- 12 more phyllo sheets
- 9 metal baking
- 9 rectangles
- 6 remaining phyllo sheets
- 6 granny smith apples
- 6 golden delicious apples
- 5 more phyllo sheets on top
- 400 gr nut mixture on top
- 300 gr walnuts
- 100 gr sugar
- 75 gr sugar
- 65 gr butter (unsalted)
- 30 ml honey
- 18 gr butter (unsalted)
- 14 gr dry bread crumbs (plain)
- 2 gr cinnamon
- 1 gr lemon peel (grated)
- some melted butter
through pastry and filling into 4 cm-wide strips, then cut diagonally at 5 cm intervals to make diamonds. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden. Drizzle honey on top and bake 5 minutes more. Cool in pan on wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped or ice cream. Makes dozen servings.
