- 2 eggs
- 450 gr sifted all-purpose flour
- 325 gr packed brown sugar (light)
- 240 gr semisweet chocolate morsels
- 240 ml buttermilk
- 140 gr shortening
- 60 ml orange juice
- 34 gr butter (unsalted)
- 12 gr orange peel (grated)
- 9 gr baking powder
- 5 gr baking soda
- 4 gr vanilla
- 1 gr salt
Recipe by: St. Louis Post-Dispatch 0. 372023809523.81 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using electric mixer, cream together shortening, butter and brown sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, orange peel, orange juice, vanilla and buttermilk until well-combined. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in separate bowl. Blend into butter mixture until combined. Stir in chocolate morsels. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto 2 greased baking sheets. Bake dozen Janice Wald Henderson. ----
